The approved proposal, spearheaded by the D.C. Courts Civil Legal Regulatory Reform Task Force, allows trained advocates to help people navigate civil legal cases, especially in housing, family law, and benefits. Thank you to National Leadership Council Chair Jim Sandman, Executive Director of the D.C. Access to Justice Commission Nancy Drane, and Frontline Justice CEO Nikole Nelson for helping to make this possible through their advocacy and leadership.
This is a game-changer for so many residents and a potential model for other jurisdictions aiming to close the justice gap. Thank you, D.C., for taking real action and making real progress toward a system that works for everyone.
