Frontline Justice, a growing national effort to transform access to justice in the United States, is seeking a full time Innovation Team Lead. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the challenges of access to civil justice for everyday Americans, an entrepreneurial orientation, and a passion for social innovation and impact. Applications close on Saturday, June 8th. Email Frontline Justice with your resume and cover letter at info@frontlinejustice.org to apply.
Americans experience between 150 and 250 million new civil justice problems every year, but fewer than 10 percent of low-income people who need help with civil legal issues will even come close to being able to access a lawyer. While the number of lawyers in America has nearly quadrupled over the past 50 years, the access to justice crisis has only deepened – more lawyers will never be enough to solve this problem. Fortunately, there is room for fresh and complementary strategies.
Frontline Justice is supercharging a nascent yet fast-growing movement to reimagine who can provide legal advice and representation, embodied in a new category of justice workers trained to help people resolve their civil legal problems. A growing evidence base clearly demonstrates that these justice workers can revolutionize the way that Americans get legal help and, in so doing, democratize access to the law.
