Alaska Legal Services Corporation (ALSC) was recently awarded $1 million from the Rasmuson Foundation to support its community justice worker program.
Currently, ALSC trains community justice workers to provide legal assistance in specialized areas such as debt-collection defense, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) advocacy, domestic violence protective orders, and more.
With this funding, ALSC will be able to train more workers, which in turn will allow the organization to help more people with their everyday legal problems.
